Bradley Ralani further sank Sundowns’s ship

Cape Town City hosted Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium at 18h00.

The game was quite entertaining in a sense that both teams put each other under pressure, it could be seen that both tram eagerly wanted goals.

Bradley Ralani opened the score in the 17th minute after beating Masandawana offside trap. Kermit Erasmus got the second goal in the 43rd minute by snipping the ball just over the seem to be out of form Dennis Onyango in the empty net.

Sundowns got their consolation goal from an own goal by Edmilson Dove in the 45th minute.

Bradley Ralani broke the deadlock for @CapeTownCityFC against @Masandawana early in the first-half.

During half time the game was Cape Town City 2 and Sundowns 1

Ralani got the brace after increasing the Citizen tally to 3 in the 54th minutes.

Keletso Makgalwa got the second goal for Sundowns in the 91st munites. Sundowns increased their tempo towards the end of the game whereby Cape Town City seemed to have relaxed on their laurels. Multiple attempts were made and Peter Leeuwenburgh was kept busy.

Final score was Cape Town City 3 – 2 Mamelodi Sundowns.

This lose will be a bitter pill for Sundowns as their aspiration to Win final Absa The premiership title seems to be fading away. The gaps between the log leader Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns is 6 points after both having played 24 games.

Sundowns had 9 goals attempts and 2 shots of the target.

Sundowns’s next game is against Maritzburg United on Friday 21st August

Cape Town City had 12 goals attempts and 5 shots of the target.

Cape Town City’s next game is against Stellenbosch FC on Thursday 20th August.
