Itumeleng Khune will lead Kaizer Chiefs again this season, coach Arthur Zwane has confirmed.
Speculation has been rife that Chiefs will appoint a new captain this season, owing to Khune’s lack of game time at the club during the last two seasons.
Zwane, however, put the speculation to rest on Thursday when he confirm that Khune is still the Chiefs captain.
“Khune is our captain. He has always been our captain throughout last season,”said Zwane during the DStv Premiership season launch at the SuperSport studios.
Khune was the club’s first choice captain last season, despite limited game time with Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Bernard Parker being his replacements. However, the duo were all released by the club. So it remains to be seen as to who will deputise for Khune this season.
