Rulani Mokwena says he felt disappointed by what Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus said to him during a touchline exchange between the two.
The Mamelodi Sundowns coach claimed that the Orlando Pirates star made some unsavory comments to him during the Carling Black Label Cup final clash at FNB Stadium on Saturday which the Brazilians won 4-0.
The exchange between Mokwena and Erasmus started after Pirates defender Tapelo Xoki was sent off after a reckless tackle on Sundowns’ Hashim Domingo.
“I was a little bit disappointed with Kermit Erasmus to be honest with you,” said Mokwena during an interview with SABC Sport after the game.
“Firstly, he was here and I consider him part of our history – yes, he now plays for the opposition. But when Kermit’s father passed away, I knew how important his father was to him and it happened, unfortunately, when we were in PE. I took time, myself personally, to drive to Kermit’s house. Not on my own behalf, but on behalf of the club, to offer commiserations and support. To [now] get that type of behavior was a little bit distasteful and disappointing. But, okay we move and we go on.”
Mokwena would not say what words were uttered by Erasmus during the commotion.
