Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos believes that things are coming together after being forced to make changes to the squad that will play Sierra Leone and Botswana in international friendlies on Saturday and Tueaday.
Broos was satisfied with what he saw as he continues to prepare the South African senior men’s national team for the friendly internationals against Sierra Leone on September 24, and Botswana on September 27. Both matches will take place at the FNB Stadium at 3pm.
“The players did well, they did all that we asked of them and it was great to see the team smile and have fun. It is about hard work too, but it’s always refreshing to see players loving what they do”, said the Belgian.
Terrence Mashego, who sat out Tuesday’s training session due to a tight abductor muscle, has been replaced by Siyanda Msani of Richards Bay, while Kaizer Chiefs’ Ashley Du Preez joined the team on Wednesday afternoon after Lyle Foster was released owing to an injury.
Given the changes that the coach has been forced to make in the squad, he is perplexed at the current injury list.
“It’s hard to believe the injuries of mostly strikers at the moment, and this now gives us time to take a look at other players. So it’s not at all bad, it is quite positive,” he said.
