Bayern and Salzburg meet in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg on Tuesday.
Salzburg so nearly pulled off an almighty shock. Chikwubuike Adamu came off the bench to give the Austrian champions the lead midway through the first half and they stood firm until the final minute of the 90. Kingsley Coman was the man to break Salzburg hearts, though the tie remains evenly poised.
Predicted line-ups
Bayern: Neuer; Pavard, Süle, Upamecano, Hernández; Kimmich, Musiala; Sané, Müller, Coman; Lewandowski
Salzburg: Köhn; Kristensen, Piątkowski, Wöber, Ulmer; Camara; Sučić, Aaronson, Seiwald; Adamu, Adeyemi
What the coaches say
Julian Nagelsmann, Bayern coach: “It’s a special game and we have high expectations for ourselves. I’m confident that every player knows how important this game is. Salzburg will look to defend high up the pitch. They have had several players out recently, which has affected how they could train. They looked a bit tired towards the end of the last meeting, which means we will need to keep the tempo high.”
Matthias Jaissle, Salzburg coach: “It [the first leg] was a great game; we threw everything in. The first half was exactly like we wanted, but in the second half we didn’t play our best transitions and lost the ball quite early sometimes.”
