Ismaila Sarr’s second-half header earned Watford a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United, who missed a host of chances.
Sean Longstaff fired narrowly wide on 16 minutes before opening the scoring seven minutes later, striking into the top corner from the edge of the area.
The midfielder missed a fantastic chance to double their lead before half-time, shooting over after Allan Saint-Maximin had rounded Ben Foster.
Newcastle continued to push for a second as Miguel Almiron and Joelinton forced Foster into saves.
Sarr made them pay as he headed Joshua King’s flick-on in the 72nd minute.
Substitute Jacob Murphy had a glorious chance to hand Newcastle their first league win of the season when put through on goal in stoppage time, but shot tamely at Foster.
Watford sit 11th with seven points, four clear of 17th-placed Newcastle.
