Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they return to North London to face Newcastle United in Sunday’s Premier League clash.
The Lilywhites lost 2-0 to Manchester United on Wednesday, while ‘Toon’ ran out 1-0 winners over Everton.
Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is expecting a tough clash against Newcastle.
“We have a tough game against a team that is in a good period of form. Newcastle drew at United, played a good game, then won against Everton. They’ve started very well and at this moment, they want to be a protagonist in the Premier League. For sure, in the present at the future, they will be a danger for everyone,” said Conte.
“We have to try to play well, and I hope to see the way the players recover from their efforts in the last games. I have a lot of considerations to make to make the best decision. We want to continue to have good results. I want my players to play for a win in every game. That has to be our mentality,” he added.
Eddie Howe’s team are unbeaten in six and have won three of their last four, scoring 10 goals in those three wins.
Howe believes Newcastle United are heading to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday with more “confidence and belief”.
“We respect Tottenham and we know how good they are, (how good) their manager is and squad is, but we’ve just come off the back of a very good result at Old Trafford and we go there with the same belief inside of us that we can get another positive result,” said Howe.
