Liberia national team coach Peter Butler has called 22 players for the upcoming friendlies against Mauritania and Libya.
Butler will use the friendly games as preparations for the Lone Star that will begin its 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers away at Nigeria in September.
Butler’s s team to face Mauritania and Libya consists of 12 home-based and 10 foreign-based players.
The upcoming friendlies are scheduled to take place in Tunisia on 11 and 14 June respectively. The Lone Star will be playing against Mauritania for the eighth time, while the game against Libya’s Mediterranean Knights will be only the second meeting between the two sides. From the eight meeting with Mauritania, Liberia won three, drew one and lost four, while their only meeting with Libya was 1-0 win in an international friendly in May 2008.
