Malawi’s elite TNM Super League season has been put on hold for three weeks, Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has confirmed in a statement.
The statement said the games have been shelved in compliance with the government’s new restrictions on public gatherings to a maximum of 50 people.
“TNM Super League will go on a three-week recess in order to observe the newly COVID-19 prevention laws announced by Presidential Task Force on COVID-19,” the statement released on January 19th, 2021 read.
The 2020-21 campaign kicked off last month with nine rounds played so far.
Silver Strikers top the 16-teams table with 19 points, on goal difference from Ekwendeni Hammers and Red Lions. While defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets lie eighth with 12 points.
